About Hearing Loss Association of Michgan
HLA-MI is a non-profit, all volunteer organization of hard of hearing people. Hearing loss can be traumatic, not only for the person with the loss but also for family, friends and co-workers. As the sounds around us fade, we often feel disconnected from our environment and very much alone. It's common to feel that no one understands. HLA-MI understands! We are in this together, learning to change our thinking about our hearing loss and to appreciate our abilities. Come learn about our programs – Hearing Technology Resource Specialists, Walk4Hearing, State conferences and Hearing Loss Awareness Day at the State Capitol and more can be found in the Program menu above (or to the left).
Experience the support of other hard of hearing people in Chapters throughout Michigan. Share your successes, frustrations and insights with people who will understand what living with a hearing loss is like. You are not alone! Please see our list of chapters under the Chapter Menu on the left and come join us for an evening of support, education and fellowship.
We are part of Hearing Loss Association of America, the largest international consumer organization dedicated to the well-being of people with hearing loss. Membership includes the bi-monthly journal, Hearing Loss, an outstanding information resource. We invite you to join by following the link to the left.
